Privacy Policy

Overview

SwissBill is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your financial data belongs to you and only you. This privacy policy explains how SwissBill handles your information.

The short version: SwissBill stores all your data locally on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal or financial information. Period.

Data We Collect

We collect zero data. SwissBill does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, or behavioral data. The app functions entirely offline and makes no network requests to our servers.

Data You Create

When you use SwissBill, you create and store the following data locally on your device:

• Bill information (merchant name, amount, due date, IBAN, reference numbers)
• Receipt data (merchant, amount, date, line items)
• Scanned images of bills and receipts
• Notes and categories you add to bills
• App preferences (reminder time, theme settings)

All this data is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's secure storage system. It never leaves your device and we have no way to access it.

Data Processing

All data processing happens entirely on your device:

• QR Code Scanning: Uses Apple's Vision framework locally on your device
• Text Recognition (OCR): Uses Apple's on-device machine learning
• AI Features: Uses Apple Intelligence (when available), which processes data on-device
• Reminders: Local push notifications scheduled on your device
• Analytics: All spending insights are calculated locally from your data

Third-Party Services

SwissBill does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We use no SDKs that collect or transmit your data. The app contains no ads and never will.

Permissions

SwissBill requires only one permission:

• Camera: Required to scan QR bills and receipts. Camera data is processed on-device and never transmitted.
• Notifications: Optional. Used only for local bill reminder notifications.

Data Security

Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security features, including device encryption and app sandboxing. Only SwissBill can access its data, and only on your device. If you use a device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, your data is additionally protected by hardware encryption.

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete individual bills: Swipe to delete any bill at any time
• Delete all data: Use Settings → Delete All Bills to remove everything
• Uninstall: Deleting the app removes all associated data from your device

Children's Privacy

SwissBill is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. Since we don't collect any data, this is not a practical concern.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website.
